Bayou Butter & Blizzard Butter –2oz Tallow Pre-shave

Not all shave soaps perform the same.

Bayou Butter was created to help improve soaps that lack slickness, cushion, and lather stability. Built on a grass-fed beef tallow base with premium butters and oils, it helps create a smoother, more comfortable shave while leaving a clean post-shave feel. Bayou Butter is not the first tube shave stick or pre-shave, but we do feel its the best. Try one and decide for yourself. As with all Cajun Blade tallow based shave soaps, we rather let our lather do the talking. 

If you’re using a shave soap from The Cajun Blade Store, you don’t need Bayou Butter, our soap bases are formulated to deliver that performance on their own. But if you’re stuck shaving with one of those lack luster lathers, Bayou Butter can help bring out the best in your favorite soap. And if you simply enjoy using a preshave, it pairs perfectly with any shave soap. Bayou Butter also makes a great travel shave soap option on its own. 

Blizzard Butter is the menthol version of Bayou Butter, built on our White Walker base to deliver intense cooling without sacrificing slickness, cushion, or lather quality. Blizzard Butter is a seasonal release, available only during the warmer months.

Directions: Twist up, apply to damp skin, build your lather directly over it, and shave.

This is why I love The Cajun Blade this tallow-based preshave is amazing, I mean their soaps lather like no one’s business but this added to the already amazing lather I looked like Santa Claus after working the lather.

I have both the regular Bayou Butter and Blizzard Butter. Bayou Butter is naturally slick and glides across the skin. The menthol in the Blizzard Butter just requires me to wet my face before application and then wow, bring on the cool. Highly recommend.

A great preshave.Very easy to apply that adds great slickness and helps your lather quality on the first pass.Just adding a little is like beard butter where it doesn't show but is there but you can add more and get a little lather to show before applying shave lather over top.

I added the Bayou Butter to my Gentlemen's Pintail set as sort of an afterthought. I'm getting back into straight razor shaving and I sometimes use a pre-shave when using a straight. The performance of this pre-shave is good enough that I use it for nearly every shave now - DE, SE or straight! I don't have trouble lathering (normally) most any soap, but the Bayou Butter certainly does give your lather a boost. This product isn't single faceted, it helps in a few different ways.
