Honing Oil

The Cajun Blade Honing Oil was purpose built for straight razor honing, especially on traditional Coticule stones where a thinner, low-viscosity oil helps maintain smooth blade feedback without excessive drag or loading. Lightly scented with a clean woody note, it was designed to stay subtle in the shop without overpowering the honing experience.

While originally formulated around Coticules, this oil also performs exceptionally well on Novaculite (Arkansas stones), slate hones, natural oil stones, and modern man-made oil stones. Its thin consistency allows the stone to cut cleanly while helping keep swarf suspended and the surface working consistently during long honing sessions.

This is not a heavy cutting oil or thick lubricant. The focus is smooth feel, clean stone performance, and maintaining good tactile feedback during razor work.

Sold in a sturdy 4 oz turret-top bottle for easy one-handed use at the honing bench.

Not recommended for use on Japanese Natural Stones (JNATs), which are traditionally designed for water-based honing methods.
